2006, Gravesham Tennis Club's teams won 10 promotions or outright
championships.

"Gravesham
Tennis Club has enjoyed a highly successful summer season.
The ladies 1st and 2nd Kent League teams have won their divisions
and gained promotion. The Ladies 1 NK and Ladies Vets NK teams
have both been promoted and are now in the top divisions of
the NK league. The men's teams were also very successful with
the Mens 2nd, 3rd and 4th NK teams gaining promotion. Also
the Mens Over 60's team won the NK Championship. We're hoping
for more enjoyable tennis in 2007!"

NK Champions 2006

"The
over 60s team won the top division of the North kent league
for second year running this summer winning 8 matches out
of 8. Three of the players - Ray Murray, Graeme Russell and
Phil Pretty were selected to play for Kent. Chairman Roy Dinnis
came in for the deciding match against Hayes and won both
his rubbers."

Division 3 winners 2006

"I
would just like to thank the squad of the Ladies Kent 1 team
for all their efforts during the Summer matches - pulling
out all the stops when necessary and sometimes playing with
injuries as well - in order for us to gain promotion to Division
3. Roll on next Summer!! Regarding
the Winter season so far, the squad has been plagued by injuries
and I would like to thank other members of the club for stepping
in and playing in matches when I haven't had enough squad
members to make a team.

Division F winners 2006
|
"The
Summer season of 2006 was probably the most successful season
in the history of the third team. The bare facts are that we
won the league, winning all ten of our matches. However the
most pleasing aspects from a captains point of view were the
great team spirit we had in our relatively small and tight knit
squad. Also the fact that the major factor in our success this
year was our youth policy, in which not only were Dominic Pender,
Chris Vickers and Stuart Patterson regulars in the team, but
they were easily our strongest players. We wish them luck in
their march towards the second and first teams. Here's looking
forward to next year."

Division H winners 2006 |
"The
fourth team won two promotions in 2006 - Winter and Summer,
winning 14 of 15 matches. For all but one match, at least half
the team consisted of juniors, whose progress is driving the
team on. Matt Leadbetter, Ross Butler & Michael Shulver
have played themselves into the squad and more will get their
chance in the new Season. Keep playing this Winter!"
